Front Desk Errors Cause Payment Delays

Is your front desk causing you payment delays? If my recent client experiences are any indication, the answer is yes.

When the front desk makes errors entering the patient demographics, claims either get rejected before they even get sent out or the insurance company denies the claim and then your billing team or billing staff has to follow up.

By entering it all correctly at the time of appointment, though, you will ensure you are paid as quickly as possible.

If someone isn't checking the work of the front desk staff, they likely are going to make lots of errors. The easiest way to check up on them is to ask your billing staff to make you aware of issues as they come across them. I encourage billing teams to send the errors back to the front desk so they start to realize the importance of entering it correctly the first time.
